Knights of the Round Dinner Table

We knights of the Dark Lens gathered our minds for a painting session in the not yet distant past. Before I move home it is important that we kick out the jams. As usual when I try to photograph some sort of event I come on strong and then become too immersed to document beyond the starting point. Such is life.

Works in progress were brought along to be punched across the finish line :)

Wetness and care is also an important principle of brush fu.

Quoting the simpsons is also an principle heavily applied to our painting sessions.

I managed to finish Gorman Di Wulfe that night but the pictures are on my other computer, the one that isn't a phone. More to come on him:)

Finished! Eldar Avatar

This piece was painted by Paul at Dark Lens Studio and I'm proud to present it. I've been training Paul and others in the way of Kung Fu :) Well done Paul! Feel free to leave comments and criticism for our budding paint hero.

This little ditty is off to the Races. Enjoy the second installment of the Hobbit tonight my friend, you've earned it :)

FInished! Helbrute..Again!

Those pictures from last night were just too dark. I exposed this demon to more purifying light. The corruption remains but is more visible.

Not sure what I was thinking last night, long days and late nights will do that I guess :) Enjoy! oh and yeah, he's still up on the bay

Finished! Helbrute

Or is it Hellbrute? The debate continues. Either way it's a great sculpt and a fun guy. The pictures came out a little dark but my lightbox set up is not ideal out here, here being Utah. Only a few more days left in this suck hole (tell us how you really feel). I'll be happy to get home and have a more permanent set up.

On with the show.

He's off to the races so place your bets now :)

Holy Diver

Last Friday was my birthday. Limited options had Holy Diver and I heading to the goth club in salt lake city. It was an enlightening experience like any anthropology trip will offer. Before hand though we had a little paint jam :) this dude has more Orcs & Goblins than you and one of the largest fully painted collections I've ever seen. Here are a couple shots of the shelves and selves.

Yes, matching flannels. Feel free to email us a hi five.

Finished! Belial Grand Master of the Deathwing

I jazzed this fella up over the weekend. Mainly I wanted to film a tutorial on powerswords. The quality of that footage is yet to be determined but having a finished mini on the shelf is never bad. I dropped him on ebay but I can enjoy him in the mean time. I also did a little cleaning out of some models I'll never get to so check my store out in the link following Belial.

On wings of death we ride!

Finished! Tau Riptide

This was a blast. I've always been Tau curious and I'm glad I could take a look under the curtain :) So big and red. It was a commission piece so sadly I'll have to say farewell but I can see myself doing more of this in the future. Maybe for myself? I say crazy things sometimes.
